The Teen Company
Teen Company students attend one-hour, age-specific classes, on Saturday mornings for 10 weeks. All Teen Company members are encouraged to audition for a role in that semester’s play, which is presented April 13-15, 2018.
Teen Company are also encouraged to assist with technical responsibilities for the Players and Ensemble productions, such as Assistant Director, Stage Manager, Props Crew, Light Board Operator, and Sound Board Operator.
About Once Upon a Teen
(Taken from the Playscripts, Inc website)
Do “once upon a time” and “happily ever after” co-exist in today’s society? To find out, three narrators focus on an all-girls’ school, where some familiar characters are attempting to overcome abusive parents, rude classmates, and an upcoming Hamlet test. Moved by their stories, one narrator tries to unsuccessfully alter the course of events by appealing to the Fairy Tales Union, but no one can argue with fate. In this touching play, it is bravery, pain, and love that result in unexpected endings for all.

Teen Company & Advanced Teen Company Class
Teen Company Theatre Class
Students will: Focus on the audition process, working on monologues and cold reads, study movement and voice to appropriately portray a character in performance, generate interpretations of scenes & characters, and learn to take risks in creating character choices–failure & making mistakes is part of the process!
Advanced Teen Company Theatre Class
Students will: complete readings in relationship to class work, hone acting techniques, timing, & emotional range, develop a new audition monologue (focusing on range of tragedy and comedy), generate interpretations of scenes & characters, and develop confidence in performing instincts.
Students who are in the 2017-18 Advanced Teen Company Class do not need to interview/audition for Winter/Spring 2018 unless specifically instructed to do so. They will, however, be contacted in October to ensure they are committing to re-enrolling.
If there are open spots in the Winter/Spring 2018 Advanced Teen Company class, we will announce for those eligible to interview/audition, in November 2017.
Please note: You must have completed one Fall or Spring semester of Teen Company before being considered for Advanced Teen Company.
